Woman tries to burn down MLK birth home

Atlanta, Georgia – Laneisha Shantrice Henderson, 26, a Florida woman that has a past history of being an Atlanta resident made headlines this past week after trying to burn down the birth home of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr on Auburn Ave.

Dressed in all black, Henderson was seen trying to douse the property with gasoline by tourists. Caught on video camera, Henderson can be seen using a gas container to douse the front porch of the home. Henderson was later stopped and held by two off-duty New York City police officers visiting the area.

Henderson was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal attempt to commit arson and interference with government property.

A veteran who has served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Many are calling for Henderson to receive medical treatment for her condition. Henderson’s facebook account has gone viral with comments from random people who had heard of the arson attempt.
