Tyler Perry has reportedly expressed interest in buying a majority stake in BET

Paramount seeks to relinquish its majority stake to use funds to invest in their streaming services

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that filmmaker/actor, Tyler Perry has expressed interest in buying the majority stake in Black Entertainment Television (BET) Media Group. Properties in the group includes: BET and VH1.

The money received from the sale will help support Paramount’s streaming services such as Pluto and Paramount+.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has tried to reach out to Perry’s PR team for comment, but they have not responded.
