Decatur, Georgia – Ja’Nae Cooper, is a native Georgian that has been saving our youth for the past three years. As a teenager, Cooper was battling depression and lost in transition. During this time, she had no one to talk to during this time of need
S.O.S “Saving Our Sister’s” Youth Mentoring Program (S.O.S.Y.M.P) was founded by Ja’Nae Cooper with a vision, at the age of 16, she started a youth mentoring program for young ladies starting at age 11 to 18 years. Her mission is to educate, develop, and inspire young women to build character, learn leadership, develop women to be independent and confident in themselves, and encourage mental, physical & spiritual growth. Â
In partnership with DeKalb County Library, S.O.S. will be hosting their second annual prom dress drive at the Wesley Chapel library branch (2861 Wesley Chapel Rd, Decatur, GA 30034). S.O.S. is working within the South DeKalb community to provide free prom dress attire: shoes, dresses, and accessories all for FREE!!!
The prom dress giveaway will take place on Saturday, March 23, 20204.
Last year S.O.S. was able to assist more than 50 girls with their prom dresses. This year S.O.S.’s goal is to help 100 girls. Would you like to assist with this event by helping to give a student the prom of their dreams? S.O.S. is seeking volunteers and are still accepting donations or would you like for your student to be a part of this year’s prom dress drive?
