After years of planning, a pedestrian connection to and from Ponce De Leon and the Eastside Trail of the Beltline is beginning to take shape.
JHC Construction, the contractor of the Beltline, is building an entry and exit that will be easily accessible for both directions of traffic. Currently, in order to access the Beltline from Ponce De Leon, pedestrians must either travel through Ponce City Market, cut through the Kroger parking lot, or use alleyways along Ponce De Leon Place.
The pedestrian connection will be a highly beneficial addition for pedestrians as both the Beltline and the developing community along the Ponce corridor continue to grow. The construction site was previously a small green area used by locals as a shortcut to travel between Ponce and the Beltline.
