DeKalb County Police seeks animal cruelty suspect
Atlanta, Georgia – DeKalb County Police are seeking an animal cruelty suspect that is responsible for the abuse of a dog. Ring camera footage is circulating from an address that Dekalb County Police has identified as 2051 Flat Shoals Road within the East Atlanta community.
In an apartment complex called, Highlands of East Atlanta, a man wearing a black, white, and grey Nike Air jogging suit with sandals on chasing a scared brown dog with light brown paws down a lower flight of steps leading to below-ground apartments.
Showing signs of fear, the dog scurries down the steps with its tail in between its legs and its head down. Covering his face with his hood on, as the dog submits, the strikes the dog with a heavy hand, then picks it up by its head, and violently swings the dog up against the law.
Without making a sound, the dog falls to the ground and scurries for shelter underneath the staircase. The man walks to the opposite side of the staircase hoping the corner the dog, but the dog manages to get away and run up the steps with the man chasing behind him.
On DeKalb County Police’s Instagram page, a description reads,
We have a possible suspect identified and are in the process of obtaining warrants
DKPD was made aware of a video showing an incident of animal cruelty that appears to have occurred on March 12, 2023 in the area of 2051 Flat Shoals Rd.
