COMCAST HOSTS THE CHANGEMAKERS DINNER: THE FUTURE OF TECH AND ENTERTAINMENT IN ATLANTA

More than 60 leading influencers join discussion about Black representation in media, technology and the future of Atlanta

Atlanta, Georgia – The city of Atlanta has been making a name for itself by becoming the leader in various aspects of media and entertainment for the past 30 or so years with music, television, and film. Behind the driving force of Atlanta’s impeccable history of entertainment creations are Black creators such as Jermaine Dupri, L.A. Reid and Babyface (LaFace Records), Dallas Austin, Tyler Perry, and more.

Today is a whole new era of media and entertainment that is built on platforms that use the internet as a vehicle to help creators independently share their stories, their work, and their communities. Comcast wants to help Black creators and the city of Atlanta stay ahead in the transition from traditional to digital media.

On the night of Tuesday, June 13, Comcast brought together 60 celebrated Black reporters, content creators, media personalities, and social media influencers for an event called, “Changemakers Dinner.”

Guest speakers included: Comcast Central Division Senior Vice President of Communications Sophia
Marshall, Comcast Central Division Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Toni Murphy, Senior
Vice President of Comcast’s Big South Region Jason Gumbs, Comcast NBCUniversal Chief Diversity
Officer Loren Hudson, Comcast NBCUniversal Vice President of Emerging Entertainment Keesha Boyd,
and Emmy-nominated producer CJ Faison.

During the Changemakers dinner, Comcast also shared a couple of initiatives that will help bolster these communities:
