The Atlanta Dream are returning to the WNBA Finals, giving Georgia basketball fans another opportunity to witness championship history. After sweeping the Washington Mystics and New York Liberty in the playoffs, Atlanta will face the Golden State Valkyries in a best-of-seven series beginning October 17 in San Francisco. Led by Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray, Angel Reese and Jordin Canada, the Dream are seeking the first WNBA championship in franchise history after previous Finals appearances in 2010, 2011 and 2013. Atlanta fans will have the opportunity to watch their team compete at State Farm Arena on October 21 and 24, following a scheduling agreement that moved the games from the smaller Gateway Center Arena to the downtown venue. The move makes thousands of additional seats available and reflects growing interest in women’s professional basketball across Georgia. With the franchise just four victories away from its first title, Atlanta has another reason to dream big.
