Organizers take a year-long break to reinvent for 2027
Organizers of ONE Musicfest announced that the festival will not take place in 2026, opting instead to take a year-long break to reinvent and build the next iteration of the event for 2027.
According to founder J. Carter and the festival team, the choice to pause is rooted in a commitment to innovation rather than repeating the same operational playbook used over the past 16 years. Organizers stated that the hiatus provides the necessary runway to execute a broader vision featuring new partnerships, bolder creative experiences, and a deeper convergence of music, culture, technology, and community.
Over its 16-year history, the event has grown from a localized gathering of 1,500 people into a massive cultural homecoming drawing over 100,000 attendees to Atlanta spaces like Piedmont Park. Recently, the team behind ONE Musicfest has also lent its production expertise to major city events, including helping produce a free Piedmont Park concert headlined by Ludacris tied to the FIFA World Cup.
The festival is officially scheduled to return with a completely reimagined format in 2027.
