According to the Atlanta Police Department, 16-year-old Tianah Robinson was fatally struck by a stray bullet around 9 p.m. on April 4, roughly an hour after permitted events wrapped up on the opposite side of the park. Investigators believe a dispute broke out among a group of young people, leading multiple individuals to open fire.

Robinson, a student at North Clayton High School who had stayed behind with friends, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, a 15-year-old girl from Gwinnett County, sustained a shoulder wound and was treated at a local hospital. Authorities have emphasized that both teenagers were innocent bystanders and were not the intended targets of the violence.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, renewing difficult conversations regarding public safety, crowd management, and youth gun violence during large urban gatherings. Police are actively reviewing park surveillance footage and appealing to the public for information to track down those responsible.
