Matt Ryan Returns to Falcons as President of Football

Franchise icon and Ring of Honor quarterback takes over Atlanta’s football operations, leading searches for new head coach and general manager.

Atlanta, Georgia – Former Atlanta Falcons quarterback and franchise legend Matt Ryan is returning to the organization, this time as the new President of Football. The Ring of Honor member will oversee all football operations effective immediately, reporting directly to team owner and chairman Arthur M. Blank.​

Ryan is tasked with leading the searches for a new head coach and general manager, both of whom will report to him once hired. The longtime Falcons signal-caller called the move a homecoming and says he is committed to building a winning culture and setting a new standard of excellence for Atlanta.
