For twelve years, Tees And Quotes has been a staple in the Atlanta community, offering custom apparel, unique designs, and a creative platform for local clients. Founded and operated by business owner Love Anderson, who has spent fifteen years in the custom apparel industry, the neighborhood shop is now facing a pivotal fight to keep its doors open.
Due to severe financial hardships and falling behind on rent, the shop is currently facing eviction proceedings. To overcome the crisis, Anderson launched a GoFundMe campaign titled “Help Save Tees And Quotes Atlanta T-Shirt Shop” with a target goal of $45,000 to cover legal overhead, past-due rent, and necessary equipment upgrades.
The Financial Challenge and Recovery Plan
According to the campaign details, the raised funds are slated for critical operational recovery steps, including:
- Legal and Rent Obligations: Settling approximately $16,000 in accumulated court fees, eviction-related costs, and past-due rent balance.
- In-House Capability Upgrades: Purchasing a large-format printer to handle banner production and specialty products directly in-house, eliminating the high expense of third-party outsourcing.
- Debt Relief & Capital: Paying down outstanding business debt and securing essential working capital to keep staff employed and maintain daily shop operations.
High-Profile Community Support
As news of the shop’s threat of closure spread, several prominent figures stepped forward to support the grassroots fundraiser. Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms contributed a lead donation of $500 to the effort, alongside contributions from media personality Claudia Jordan ($100), Drew Pittman ($300), and other community supporters rallying to preserve the longstanding local business.
