Atlanta Comes Together to Showcase the Nation’s Largest 10K

Atlanta, Georgia – Early Friday morning, residents of the Atlanta metropolitan area gathered not only to celebrate America’s birthday, but also to honor the spirit of their running community.

For the 56th year, the Atlanta Track Club hosted its annual Peachtree Road Race on July 4th. As the largest 10K (6.2 miles) event in the country, the race is sponsored by Atlanta’s signature newspaper, the AJC. The course begins in Buckhead near Lenox Square, winds through Peachtree Road, and concludes at Piedmont Park via 10th Street.
