Nelson Street Bridge Reopens

Bridge has been transformed into a pedestrian bridge

After six years of being closed off to traffic due to hazardous conditions. The Nelson Street Bridge reopens, but this time with a new look and purpose.

The original Nelson Street Bridge was over 100 years old and as in terrible condition. The bridge closed and was later demolished to make way for a new bridge with a new colorful look and personality to share. Unlike the old bridge, the new bridge is restricted only to pedestrian traffic. Allowing people to relax, gather in groups, or just simply enjoy the downtown views of the Mercedes Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena.

The Nelson Street Bridge is located between downtown Atlanta and the popular Castleberry Hills district.
